Middy Run

The weather forecast turned out to be accurate; mild, grey and thankfully, dry. 21 riders and one pillion arrived at Carbrooke ready to start the Middy Run. While chatting and partaking of hot drinks the first call for backup came and Steve headed off to recover Peter M's Raleigh which had stopped about 3 miles before the start.

The route went through pleasant scenery with picturesque places such as Redgrave and Botesdale. Just beyond which, another call was made for backup from Steve Lee for his Triumph.

The first riders to arrive at the railway had to wait for entry as the unveiling of the latest addition to the Middy collection, a refurbished 1933 Dennis Mace lorry was taking place. As part of the celebration, two traction engines and a Dennis fire engine were also on display.
After lunch everyone returned for sandwiches and cake provided by Deborah.

The day was made complete by a fly past by the Red Arrows....... but that was at 7pm when everyone was back at home. I will try to arrange for them to come earlier next year.
