Founde'rs Relay Rally 2018

Thetford Check Point

Cynthia, Alan and I manned the Thetford check point for this year's Founder's Relay Rally. The day started off bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky.

We had 7 riders sign on at our check point with a further 41 passing through who had signed on at other points.

We had one rider from Cheltenham and two riders from the Taverners Section.

The day stayed sunny and hot with some local interest by people visiting the retail park.

Our thanks go to Sainsbury's staff for letting us use their car park.

Wymondham Market Cross

We had 52 visitors, 13 of whom signed on, with 7 sections represented - 8 if you count Burton HQ.  Of the diverse array of machines coming and going the oldest was John Wells` 1928 BSA S28, with Nick Farthing`s 1929 AJS M7 a close second.  All were well presented co-operative starters, but one BMW was rather too much of a "friend to gravity" much too its owner's embarrassment. (Fortunately no physical harm ensued.)   On a more cheerful note this was the first year that no riders fell foul of the idiotic one way system - a cause for celebration!

Our thanks go to Dave and Val for manning the checkpoint.
