Crumblies Run Report 2018

Yet again a club run was thwarted by the weather.

On the last event of the year, following a gorgeous, Indian Summer swansong, the Crumblies Run was affected by the tail end rain from Storm Callum.

Ten hardy riders and one pillion (Maggie) took part in a decidedly damp run to Southwold. The majority of bikes were Triumphs, but it was good to see John W on his flat tank BSA.

For the first time on this run we had a coffee stop at the Royal Oak, Laxfield, where we were made welcome and enjoyed warming drinks.

From Laxfield to Southwold and during the lunch stopover it was dry. However soon after leaving Southwold the rain started again, so by the time we returned to Carbrooke everyone was ready for the warming apple and blackberry crumble and custard.

Despite some atrocious conditions no backup was required.

Thanks to those who came and braved the 108 mile run while being upbeat and cheerful despite the conditions, to Val for the loan of her bike trailer, and to Deborah for the Crumblies Crumble.
