West Kent Warm-up

The new Run the West Kent Warm-up was the first run put on by Mickey. It started at the Route 11 Cafe on the All. There were 16 riders and 2 passengers on the Run on a dry but blustery morning.

The route took us onto the old A11 now called the B1172 through to the outskirts of Wymondham then heading east to Mulbarton going north towards Norwich. We then headed south through Stoke Holy Cross towards Bungay getting onto the A143 to Needham for lunch at the popular Needham Red Lion.

The afternoon route took us into Harleston, Starston and Rushall diverting off towards Pulham St Mary crossing the A140 towards Tibenham. On riding along a stretch of road outside Shropham several of us noticed the B17 Flying Fortress the Sally B, the last airworthy example, doing its Old Buckenham Air Show display. Three of us stopped at a layby and had a very close flypast as the Sally B left the area heading west presumably back to Duxford. The Run finished back at the Route 11 Cafe. Our thanks go to Mickey for the route and backup, Steve for checking the route, Cynthia for sign on, the Route 11 staff and The Needham Red Lion team.

It was good to see two Ducati's on the run, a 750 and a 160. Pictures from Mickey and Bob
